We hired Michael to fully renovate our condo and we could not be happier with the result. Completing a major renovation from 2,000 miles away is challenging but it could not have gone better. Michael's subs are professional, detail oriented, and he supervised all the activity. Michael will only work on limited projects and the only concern I would have is his availability. He is creative and a really good guy, who makes the process fun! Highest recommendation

We were introduced to Michael at Woodquest by our condo's strata as he was a known and preferred contractor. Upon our first meeting with him, which was in a suite that he had totally reconstructed, we knew that he was the contractor for us and we never even spoke to any others before engaging him to do the total renovation of our 3,000 sq ft condominium in downtown Vancouver. From beginning to end, Michael took control of every detail, from coordinating with the building concierges and architect/designer (Andrea McLean) through demolition, construction and, ultimately, furniture delivery and installation.

With us living 1,500 miles away during the construction phase, Michael was always available the few times we could visit during the process and kept us up to date on every phase and aspect of the job via extensive photos, walk-through commentated videos and conference calls. He, his crew and sub-contractors were all very personable and highly professional and the end product is outstanding. Visitors are amazed at the clean lines, quality of materials and attention to detail. He was able to level floors, gain wall and ceiling space via modifying ductwork and generally customize all aspects, including the elimination of cheap grillwork with streamlined intakes and exhausts throughout the unit.

We could not have been more pleased with the process of the renovation, nor the experience of working with Michael and his quiet confidence.

Woodquest Construction did a major renovation of our apartment. They were always very professional and all the trades people that they hired to work with them were also very professional. The work performed was done in a timely fashion and to a high level of expertise. We were always consulted if design changes were recommended and they always tried to find us the most economical solution without compromising the high level finishes we were expecting. I would never hesitate to recommend Woodquest for any job.

We hired Woodquest as the General Contractor on the total renovation of 2000 square foot condo overlooking Coal Harbour in Vancouver. They were recommended to us by the architect/designer, Robert Ledingham. He had worked with Woodquest on similar projects before.

Michael Macartney and his Woodquest team can do it all. They have a high level of skill, they are productive, respectful of the neighbors, and they mean what they say about start dates and schedules. This project involved expensive finishes, custom made cabinetry, digitally controlled lighting, etc. so it was not inexpensive. In spite of the large budget, we paid close attention to Woodquest's invoices and always found them to be fair and accurate. Just very trustworthy and extremely professional.

“Michael is always a pleasure to deal with. Reliable, on-time, and trustworthy - in the world of general contracting and building this is a rare gem. And his work is great quality - he works hard, and is always ready to look for creative ways to make things fit, or work out. Only problem is trying to book him - he's so much in demand!”
